About Me
My name is Stephanie, and my healthy living journey is quite a messy and long one. Growing up I was always into sports, but my diet was very cultural and not the healthiest - passing on seconds was an absolute no-no when grandma was around. In my freshman year at university, freshman 15 was more like freshman 50, and with all the stress of working 2 jobs and studying at every other opportune moment, I lost sight of myself. I no longer had time for sports, pulling all-nighters resulted in aggressive insomnia, and I had massive eczema flair ups all over my body. My body was essentially shutting itself down. I had over scheduled myself and taken on too many activities and responsibilities, and I just couldn't keep up with it.
When I was 19 (softmore year) I discovered that I had a gluten and diary intolerance, and that my eczema flair ups were directly related to my messed up diet, lack of sleep, and lack of exercise. I was told that if I kept up my crazy schedule and life habits I would eventually have some sort of emotional breakdown and possibly even open myself up to anxiety or panic attacks. I initially ignored this because, well, I couldn't quit school and needed my jobs to pay for school. But, as I was told, it didn't take much longer for my body to just breakdown, and it started to effect my grades, my work performance, and my physical and mental states. So, with the remaining willpower I had left, I quit one of my jobs, reduced my work hours at my second job, and with all that extra time on my hands, I decided to focus on healthy living. I changed my diet drastically, incorporated regular strength training and yoga into my days and took time to do what I once loved: music, art, reading, hiking, camping, and simply relaxing. Needless to say, my life took a turn for the better and after a year or so, I felt like the best version of me I had ever been, and since then I have dedicated my life to healthy and holistic living, self care, and educating others on doing the same.
I hope you enjoy this website and can learn a great deal from it, taking on new adventures that will ultimately lead to a healthier you.
